This auction presents the serious
collector with a unique opportunity to acquire highly
selected works from some of the best living Cuban
artists at very reasonable prices. At the sametime,
buyers will be contributing to a very worthy cause
and getting the benefit of partial tax deductibility.
Works for Sale
All works, except
those reserved for the auction, may be purchased before
or after the auction at very attractive discounts
from the estimated gallery price.
Auction Time
The auction will take place on Friday, May 6,
from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dactyl Foundation.
Registration & Bidding
To participate, you must register at the show
desk, where you will receive a complete price list
and a set of stickers that will uniquely identify
you as a bidder. Each work that participates in the
auction will have a strip next to it showing a list
of increasing bid prices, beginning with the minimum
bid. To bid, you must put one of your stickers next
to a bid price higher than the last bid. At the end
of the auction, the works will be sold to the highest
bidder who must present payment at that time. If the
highest bidder is not available at that time, the
work will be sold to the next highest bidder.
Framing and Delivery
Framed works listed on this site do not include
the frame price. Each work will have that price listed
separately. Delivery is not included. Individual delivery
arrangements should be made.
Tax Treatment
A portion of
the purchase price of works, excluding framing, will
be tax deductible. We will provide appropriate documentation
for this purpose.
Exhibit Details
The exhibit has been professionally juried and includes
only work from Cuban and Cuban-American artists that
live outside the island.
Financial Aspects
Income from the show will derive
from the sale of the artwork and the sale of the catalogue.
Costs for this exhibit are being kept to a minimum
and the organizers and curators are all volunteering
their services.
